Weather in Kenya

Kenya has a tropical climate, with hot and humid conditions along the coast, a temperate inland climate, and very dry conditions in the north and northeast parts of the country.

Nairobi is located at a high altitude and has a moderate climate. Summers are sunny and warm, while winters are mild to cool, growing cold in the evenings. There is only moderate rainfall in the late-summer to autumn period, when one can expect cloudy, drizzly days.

While the country does have its fair share of conservative areas where modest clothing is expected, expats should always have loose fitting clothes to cope with the heat. Shorts or shirts are also more accepted on the coast.
