Shopping in Sydney

Sydney is a shopper's paradise, offering international designer brands, local markets and everything in between. With a variety of shopping opportunities on offer, Sydney is also home to some of Australia’s most well-known fashion designers.

Shoppers will notice that Sydney shopping malls are lovely to look at as well as shop in. Many are housed in historical buildings with beautiful architecture – and those that aren't are equally gorgeous modern buildings.

Shopping centres in Sydney

Pitt Street Mall

Pitt Street Mall is one of the busiest shopping strips in Australia and is the main shopping precinct in the Sydney city centre. Filled with local and international stores, the street is also home to a number of malls such including the huge and immensely popular Westfield Sydney shopping mall.

Queen Victoria Building

Known as the QVB, this building is a splendid display of elaborate Romanesque architecture. The QVB houses various specialty stores as well as an array of coffee shops and restaurants.

The Strand Arcade

The historic Strand Arcade retains its old-world charm and hosts some of Australia’s most well-known fashion designers as well as unique antique shops, boutiques and jewellery shops. Shoppers will also find a selection of lovely coffee shops and restaurants.

Birkenhead Point

Birkenhead Point is Sydney’s largest premium outlet centre, home to over 100 premium outlet stores, showcasing spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.

Markets in Sydney

Sydney offers a variety of markets, with some of the most popular being The Rocks Markets, Paddington Markets, Glebe Markets and Balmain Markets.
